The Annual General Meeting of Darley Playing Fields Association was held on Monday 14th June 2010 in the Playing Fields Pavilion, Station Rd, Darley.
Present:
Sue McQueen (Chairman & Trustee); Andy Johnston (Vice-Chairman & Trustee); Mel Welch (Official Contact for Charity Commission & Trustee); Alan Cottrill (Treasurer & Trustee); Katrina Pritchard (Trustee); Peter Flynn (Trustee); Gary Plant (Nidd United FC); Colin Gray (Parishioner)
1. Welcome and Introductions – The Chairman welcomed everybody to the meeting and thanked them for their attendance. She reminded everybody of the recent history of the PFA and expressed hopes for the future.
2. Apologies for Absence – were received from Sarah Johnston (trustee)
3. Minutes - The minutes of the 2009 Annual General Meeting were approved as a correct record.
4. Matters Arising – There were no matters arising not covered elsewhere on the agenda
5. Annual Report - The report on the activities of Darley PFA for the year ending 31st March 2010, as submitted to the Annual Parish Assembly, was received and approved.
6. Finance - The statement of accounts for the period ending 31st March 2010 were presented and approved, subject to their receiving approval from the auditor.
7. Trust Deed
It was agreed to amend the Trust Deed to provide for one Trustee to be nominated by Nidd United FC, and to reduce the number elected from the Parish from eight to seven.
8. Elections
· 7 Trustees elected by the Parishioners – The following were elected and agreed to serve:
o Alan Cottrill, Andy Johnston, Sarah Johnston, Sue McQueen, Mel Welch
o In addition, it was recommended that David Dickinson be invited to continue as a Trustee
o Sue McQueen indicated that, although she was prepared to continue as a trustee, she wished to retire from the position of Chairman. The meeting thanked her for the outstanding contribution she had made to the PFA for many years, and expressed pleasure that she had agreed to continue as a Trustee.
o Katrina Pritchard indicated that she wished to retire as a Trustee. The meeting accepted her resignation with regret, and thanked her for her many years of service to the PFA. It was pleased to note that Katrina indicated that she would be happy to continue to support the PFA at events etc. whenever possible.
· Nominated trustees – The following nominations were noted:
o Menwith with Darley Parish Council : Peter Flynn
o Nidd United FC – to be advised
9. Open Forum – Following the formal meeting there was a wide ranging discussion on a variety of topics, which were referred to the meeting of Trustees to progress.
