Darley in Bloom is part of a nation-wide campaign to make our cities, towns and villages more attractive and environmentally friendly for the enjoyment of residents and visitors.
Darley in Bloom is not about winning competitions (though it's nice when you do!) but about making the place where we live look bright, clean and tidy, with the grass verges well cut and flower beds and containers overflowing with colour. It is about promoting re-cycling and environmental conservation. Darley is a rural village and that's the identity we want to protect. We seek to maintain and sensitively enhance the character of our Dales village. "Parks and Gardens" we are not.
