The Parish Council receives a large amount of information each month which the council members all read. We will list selected parts of the information here so that members of the parish and groups within the parish can benefit from them.

 

Residents

A new online welcome pack for people new to North Yorkshire is available at www.nysp.org.uk/welcomepack in many languages

Grassroots grants are providing grants from £250 to £5,000 for small charities and community groups - see www.ydmt.org.uk. Community Spaces is providing grants for community groups to improve public open spaces www.yrcc.org.uk

Energy Saving

The Energy Saving Trust advice centre for North Yorkshire and the Humber offers advice on energy efficiency in the home and now also on sustainable transport, reducing waste and saving water. There is a free local advice line 0800 515 012 which all members of the public are welcome to use.

 

Recycling

Energy2All will refurbish old computers and put them to good use - www.energy2all.co.uk

Waste Management

Community Waste Warriors needed to help people in the local community save up to £420 per year in wasted food. Training in Feb and March email Luna Zabalza at luna.zabalza-gomez@northyorks.gov.uk
